JOFFRENY CLASSIC CAR TOURS (JCCT) TERMS AND CONDITIONS
June 2007
When bookings are made the client agrees to the following terms and conditions. The client and nominated drivers will also be required to sign JCCTs standard classic car rental agreement upon collecting the car. These terms and conditions and the rental agreement will be governed by English law.
People entitled/insured to drive: JCCT provides fully comprehensive car insurance to include green card cover. The driver(s) must be aged between 25 and 70 years of age and must have held a full, valid driving licence for at least 24 months at the start of the hire, and have a good driving record. A copy of the driving licence for each specified driver will be taken before the car is hired out. JCCT will also require a copy of each driver's passport and a form of ID (which must show the home address). If the driver fails to disclose a relevant fact and a claim is rejected, JCCT will hold the driver fully responsible for any losses and the driver agrees to indemnify JCCT accordingly. JCCT reserves the right to decline the hire of any of it's cars at it's own discretion.

Cautionary deposit: JCCT will require a cautionary deposit as security for the car and related costs. The client will be notified of the amount at the time of the booking. This deposit will be taken at the start of the hire in the form of a pre-authorised code on a credit/debit card. Assuming the vehicle is returned to JCCT at the end of the hire period, in the same condition at the start of the hire period (excepting normal wear and tear), the pre-authorised code for the cautionary deposit will be cancelled. This cautionary deposit may also be used by JCCT for any additional charges or surcharges arising during the hire period.
Limitations of use: this is restricted to social, domestic and pleasure purposes by any insured driver authorised by JCCT to drive the car whilst it is being hired. The car must not under any circumstances be taken out of the Haute Vienne (87), and immediately surrounding departments (23, 19, 24, 16, 86, 36), without the express written permission of JCCT. The hire car must not be used for: racing, competitive, reliability or speed driving of any kind, carrying fare-paying passengers for hire or reward, towing other vehicles, overloading, carrying explosive or harmful substances or anything which will damage the vehicle or make it unfit for use, or for any illegal purposes. Smoking is also not allowed in any of our cars and the transportation of animals is strictly prohibited. Failure to comply with these rules will result in additional charges being levied for cleaning purposes.
Personal travel/health/legal insurance: the client is strongly advised to take out personal travel/accident insurance cover for the party. Clients from EU countries are entitled to obtain medical treatment provided they have a properly completed European Health Insurance card. This does not however cover all costs, and clients are strongly advised to take out appropriate health/accident cover prior to travelling.
Breakdown cover: roadside assistance/recovery is provided by RAC Europe as part of the hire cost. Please inform JCCT by telephoning the designated numbers as soon as a breakdown occurs. The driver must not allow the car to be driven if he believes there is a mechanical fault that might damage the vehicle or risk injuring the driver and passenger(s). If the car cannot be repaired, JCCT will attempt to replace the car with another hire car. If a suitable alternative hire car is not available, or the client considers the replacement hire car to be unacceptable, the client will be entitled to a pro rata refund or to rearrange the hire for a later mutually agreeable date. If this is not acceptable to the client, JCCT will make arrangements for an alternative hire car to be provided to the client who will be responsible for meeting the costs of the alternative transport.
Bookings/payment: bookings can be made by telephone, email or in writing. Payment can be made by cash, cheque together with cheque guarantee card, by direct credit to our nominated account or by visa / debit card. A non-refundable deposit of 25% of the total charge will be required at the time of booking, and the balance will become due 8 weeks prior to the start of the hire period. Bookings will be confirmed upon receipt/clearance of the 25% deposit. If the balance is not paid on the specified date, the booking will be cancelled and the deposit will be retained.
Choice of car: in the event that your specified car is not available due to a mechanical or other problem which is beyond our reasonable control, JCCT will inform the client immediately and offer an alternative car for the same hire period or alternative dates.
Cancellation: loss of 25% deposit up to 8 weeks prior to the start of the hire period; no refund will be due between 8 weeks and the start of the hire period.
Fines: the client is responsible for any fines (ie. parking, speeding etc.) which may be incurred whilst the car is being hired.

The driver is responsible for ensuring that the correct type of fuel is used and failure to do so will result in additional costs being levied to correct and clean the fuel system.
Late returns: will be charged extra at 125% of the daily hire charge. Drivers will be held solely responsible for any loss or damage to the car during the additional days.

JCCT accepts no liability for any activities provided by external sources. If anything is unclear you should seek additional information. JCCT cannot be held responsible if the itinerary or accommodation does not meet the clients' requirements, but every effort will be made by JCCT to rectify any problems at the time.
